I want to thank you for sharing my childhood ball lightning story a few months back.

I mentioned that I'm a hopeful skeptic. I don't really sense things. I haven't seen any ghosts.

Well, until this week. I'm mostly the debunk it person who enjoys puzzling out presumed paranormal encounters.

I'm a science person, raised by science teachers, who nevertheless had a bookshelf

full of supernatural and paranormal books. Anyway, I had an experience at work that was very minor,

very brief, but now lives in my poor, cracked, skeptical brain.

I work for an agency that preserves natural and historic resources.

I work at the front desk and also give tours.

Our museum has two rooms.

One is large and tall to house a log cabin inside. We have a temporary contact station

set up inside due to some construction. The adjoining room is a small museum dedicated to a particular

historic figure. I work with one co-worker who is a small, young woman. I'm a big, wide,

middle-aged woman myself, and these descriptions are

relevant. It was the end of the day. I was at the desk, while my co-worker was at a different

historic building on site. My closing job was securing the museum while she locked up the other

buildings and outdoor bathrooms. There were a couple of late museum visitors I had to wait on

before locking up. They left, I locked the doors, I closed out the cash register. Then I stood up to do a
