| 0:58.4 | Well, hello, everyone. Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the shameless sex podcast. This episode is with repeat guest Wednesday, Martin, Ph.D. And she guested on our show on episode number 82. It was that long ago. How long? That was probably in what, 2018? Year two of our podcast? Oh my God. I remember when we were in, sorry, I was in Sri Lanka with my ex-partner. You recorded in Sri Lanka? No, no, no. But that's when we came up with this concept. So we did the podcast with her and it was all about her book, Untrue, which is an amazing, amazing book. The book is unreal. Oh, my God. It's untrue. No, it's true, yeah. But unreal. Yeah, about what is not true about women less than adultery. |
| 1:44.2 | Anyways, we, so we recorded with her and then it was when I was in Sri Lanka, |
| 1:46.7 | we either ran the campaign or came up with the campaign. |
| 2:34.2 | And it was the first time we did this social media campaign where we had people, I don't know if it was. Yeah, and you don't show your face. And it was sharing something shamelessly about yourself, like sharing a piece of shame. That was like a Gloria Steinem moment. Yeah, because she had done something like that. Yeah. So that inspired it. And Wednesday partnered with us and it was really powerful. A lot of people felt this liberation. And like you were still anonymous if you wanted to be. You didn't have to show your face. We would say something like I had an abortion or I had an affair or I'm a closeted lesbian or something like that. And anyways, and that's not what this is about. So it's been that long. And so she finally guested back on her show. And we do a little bit of a check-in about what the current state of women, men, marriage, relationships, sexual assault, cheating, affairs, all these things. Right. She's a researcher. I was gutted that I couldn't be on this interview. I was on a vacation. I could only record on Wednesdays. I know. And I was, I was, I was on a boat somewhere in the middle of the Caribbean. Well, you needed that vacation. I did. So I'm, I'm so excited because she's a legend in my mind. I really value and respect what she's put out there. And she has a lot of books, New York Time, |
| 2:51.9 | New York Time, bestselling author. Not only that she's just an incredibly smart person. |
| 2:57.7 | Yeah. And really worth listening to the words that she says. So it's powerful. And she knows |
| 3:03.7 | her stuff. So she comes from anthropological, if I'm saying the right perspective. And it's something that I, |
| 3:08.7 | you have to listen to the episode, but I got a number of things. I mean, I really loved when she was shared |
| 3:12.6 | the research showing the current state of women, love, marriage. But so she states some facts and you'll |
| 3:18.1 | listen in the podcast. So some stats about how more women are choosing to be single than ever before, like actively choosing this. And more women, and it's more women than men, are, if they, in their perfect world, if they had the choice, they would live abroad as opposed to in the U.S. And you'll learn more about why these things are happening. Would you choose that? Yes. I would. I mean, if I could, like, take my life. Where would you live abroad if you could live abroad? I mean, I don't really. So I'm drawn to like tropical places, even though my hair will look like the crazy 80s, but it's a little. Are we talking like the Turks and Caicos? No, no, no, no. I'm more like I want to be more in like I don't know like I mean I think like everyone says |
| 3:58.2 | Costa Rica it's a little cliche but whenever I'm in Costa Rica I feel really nourished and healthy |
| 4:03.1 | from the air to you know the from the rainforest the waters you know all the all the things so I would |
