1:08.8	Every two or three years my mom and I take a trip to somewhere we have never been.
1:15.0	We tried to pick a city with a lot of history and touristy things to do.
1:19.5	About five years ago when we were trying to decide where to go on our next trip,
1:23.4	my cousin did a deep dive on our family ancestry.
1:27.0	She traced us all the way back to Salem, Massachusetts, and found out we were very distant
1:32.4	cousins of Sarah Good, one of the women, accused of being a witch who ended up being home.
1:38.8	So we thought, why not go to Salem? Salem did not disappoint. We went the first week in November so we didn't hit the
1:45.4	Halloween crowd, but it was still close enough to Halloween that they still had their decorations up.
1:51.2	Salem was such a cool place, filled with so much history, museums and shopping. We stayed in the Hawthorne
1:57.9	Hotel. I picked the hotel based on the location because it was within
2:02.3	walking distance of everything. The photos looked nice and it had good reviews. When we got there,
2:07.8	the hotel had a 1920s feel and had just a little bit of creep factor in the lobby, but it tied
2:14.2	in well with being in Salem. We ended up getting a room on the fourth floor and as soon as we walked into our room
2:20.9	you got an overpowering strong smell of something burning, but not in a bad way.
2:26.6	It was almost a combination of burning wood and food.
2:30.4	We knew there was a restaurant on the main floor, so we assumed our room was over the kitchen,
2:35.2	and that it was the smell of cooking meat that was floating up to our room.
