Summary
On this week's episode of The Cine-Files, Steve Morris and John Rocha finish off their revisit, breakdown and analysis of 2014's brutally thought provoking modern classic, WHIPLASH. From director Damien Chazelle and starring Miles Teller, J.K. Simmons (who own the Oscar for his role), Meliias Benoist and Paul Reiser. It focuses on an ambitious music student and aspiring jazz drummer (Teller), who is pushed to his limit by his abusive instructor (Simmons). It also won Academy Awards for Best Film Editing and Best Sound Mixing, and was nominated for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay. Steve and John go thru the movie scene by scene and break down the direction, acting, storylines, cinematography, score, themes, message, philosophical debates and more.
