Katie, do you have any tips for how to avoid resentment building up in areas where your spouse

0:07.7

continually disappoints you slash doesn't live up to your expectations or what you've asked

0:14.4

of them?

0:16.4

That's the question that I have for you.

0:17.9

That actually comes from a listener.

0:20.0

Well, I don't have any resentment towards you. I guess you do all those things.

0:24.9

But I do think that this is a great question. I think it's very common among women to build up

0:30.7

resentment. Maybe women just talk about the resentment that builds up. Maybe men have resentment

0:34.4

that builds up too. They just don't let other people know. Yeah, I think men totally build up resentment. This isn't a one way straight at all. I don't even know if this is a guy or a gal that asked this question. Yeah, that's a great question. I just, I typically hear about it coming from women, which I think is a great thing to address because a resentful wife, you can see from, you know, a long ways away. 1:17.1

And I know that I really didn't used to like that answer because it was kind of like,

1:21.8

okay, yada, yada, let's get to the practical stuff. But this can be very practical. And this can look like spending, like, how much time do you have

1:30.6

actively going towards reading scripture? How many times do you, how much time do you

1:35.0

actively have towards prayer, like focused prayer? I love praying throughout my day. Like,

1:41.4

how much time do you actually have in a heart posture that is

1:44.4

changing your heart into a more grace-filled woman? This is something I've been very challenged with

1:49.7

this year myself. So I'm not, I'm encouraging you in this as someone who has seen that I have just

1:55.6

been looking for the practical tips and tricks and kind of proverbs type stuff when it comes to

2:00.3

marriage, which is wonderful

2:01.3

because we know that that gets results. But I think I just thought that my relationship with

2:07.2

the Lord was, you know, I've been freed, I'm covered in his righteousness, I'm a Christian. So now I

2:12.3

just live my life instead of seeing it as I can really change my heart posture. I can become a less resentful
