📜 TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: Psalm 76

In Judah God is known;
    his name is great in Israel.
²His abode has been established in Salem,
    his dwelling place in Zion.
³There he broke the flashing arrows,
    the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war. Selah

⁴Glorious are you, more majestic
    than the mountains full of prey.
⁵The stouthearted were stripped of their spoil;
    they sank into sleep;
all the men of war
    were unable to use their hands.
⁶At your rebuke, O God of Jacob,
    both rider and horse lay stunned.

⁷But you, you are to be feared!
    Who can stand before you
    when once your anger is roused?
⁸From the heavens you uttered judgment;
    the earth feared and was still,
⁹when God arose to establish judgment,
    to save all the humble of the earth. Selah

¹⁰Surely the wrath of man shall praise you;
    the remnant of wrath you will put on like a belt.
¹¹Make your vows to the Lord your God and perform them;
    let all around him bring gifts
    to him who is to be feared,
¹²who cuts off the spirit of princes,
    who is to be feared by the kings of the earth.

0:00.0	Welcome back. It is time for us to get our minds aligned with the truth of God's word for the day.
0:08.0	We've got to get our minds going in the right direction. Every day the moment we wake, whether that's in the morning or the evening if you do a swing shift, whatever it is,
0:18.0	take the time to get your mind aligned with God's truth because your day will flow better both for you and for the world
0:25.2	when you're able to do that. Today we're looking at Psalm chapter 76
0:30.6	this is a Psalm that is full of verbiage and imagery that is not common to our day.
0:37.0	So I want to put that out there right at the front so that you can kind of get your mind ready to hear some things you're not used to hearing because it talks
0:44.0	about spears and swords and flashing arrows and weapons of war, things that we
0:49.2	don't recognize as a common part of our day. but in their day war and the conflict that went on between
0:56.4	nations was a very stark reality. There are also some things in here where he talks about the fear of God and who can
1:06.3	stand before him and those are concepts in our culture that are not appreciated as
1:11.8	much as they should be because we need to understand who our
1:15.8	God is.
1:16.8	He is no one to be trifled with.
1:19.7	And so I want to read Psalm 76. And as I do, I want you to remember the God it's describing here is the same
1:27.4	God who sent Jesus Christ to the earth he is the same God who deals with us individually on a day-to-day
1:35.7	basis. He's the same God. So read this passage with that in mind. In Judah, God is known. His name is great in Israel. His abode has been established
1:48.4	in Salaam, or Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.
1:53.7	There he broke the flashing arrows, the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war.
1:59.9	Glorious are you, more majestic than the mountains full of prey?
2:05.3	The stout-hearted were stripped of their spoil, they sank into sleep.
2:10.4	All the men of war were unable to use their hands.
