I praise God for the benefit that he's bringing about through the proclamation of

his word every morning. Today we're going to be looking at Psalm chapter 62 and we're

going to look at verses five six and seven but they also most of five six and seven

are repeated in verses one and two. So rather

versus one and two are repeated in five, six, and seven if you look at it

chronologically. But the reason I'm looking at it further down in the

passage is because it adds a little bit to the

part that's repeated and gives us a more fully orbed perspective of what it is

the author's trying to say. So let's read the verses together. It says for God alone, oh my soul, wait in

silence. For my hope is from him. So you see the author is speaking to his own soul. I wonder if you do that. Do you speak to

yourself in positive ways like this? Do you preach to yourself? That's how I've heard

it said and how it really resonates with my soul. I have to preach to myself to get myself on

track sometimes. And so what he's saying here is he's telling his own soul,

wait for God in silence your hope comes from him beginning in verse six again. He only is my rock and my salvation my fortress

I shall not be shaken.

On God rests my salvation and my glory, my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
