Today, we're going to begin our analysis of the 1986 murder of Scott Macklam in Port Huron, Michigan.

Many people believe that Fred Freeman, who now goes by the name Temogen Kensu, was wrongly convicted of this crime.

So I've been interested in this case for a while. I've read a lot of articles

about it. And I had reached out several months ago to Temogen's attorneys. I reached out to one of

attorneys in particular saying I would like to cover the case on our show. But I didn't hear back. And unbeknownst to me,

the attorney has since retired. So that's why I didn't hear back. And then Timogen had reached out,

said he saw that I was a retired FBI profiler and that I had a true crime podcast. And he asked

if he could talk to me about his case. And he didn't know

that I had actually reached out to his attorney several months before. And we set up a call.

We had a very nice talk. One of the things that we talked about, and I wanted to make sure that

if we were going to cover this case, that we had enough

information. And that was why I had reached out to his attorneys initially because I figured with

all the appeals that Temigen has had on his case, that there would be a lot of information

available, including the case files and stuff like that. So I wanted to talk with him to see what

would be available to us. Could we actually look at this case? And it turns out, yes, there's plenty of
