My Halloween was great. Thanks a lot for asking. We took the new puppy around the neighborhood.

She was dressed as a big spider. So she was a dog Angela. And I have a stomach ache this morning from the candy,

for real. Even after all these years, you have no restraint when it comes to your sweet tooth,

which is in a way very comforting to me. But also very comforting is our guest today.

This is a man who we have met in passing at at various

events crime con most notably and he's finally come on the show this is a wonderful conversation

way overdue and now I don't know what to say because usually that's my buildup to asking you

how you are but I already know that you have a stomachache, so we'll just go right into this. Well, yes, we've got Matt Murphy,

new author Matt Murphy in this episode today. Matt Murphy is an ABC News legal analyst and

former senior deputy district attorney at the Orange County District Attorney's

Homicide Unit.

So we talk a lot about the crimes that he's covered.

We talk a little bit about the Dirty John case, Karen Reed case, because he was a contributor

on the ABC News documentary on that case. And yeah, he's a really great guy and a lot of

a lot of fun to talk to. Whip smart about all this crime. And impossibly handsome, might I say.

Very articulate and just a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all of the, I think I want to say,

you know, inside baseball type true crime information.

The conversation that we have is amazing and we cannot wait to have him back on the show.
