Well, hello there, and welcome to this episode of the Terry Cole show that I want to start with a question when something bad happens to someone you dislike.

Do you feel a little bit of glee inside?

Or when the villain in your TV series or the movie that you're watching sort of gets theirs?

Do you internally cheer that something bad has happened to them? That is called

Shaddenfreida, right? So this is a German word where it means getting pleasure out of the suffering or pain or failure of others.

In today's video, because I got really interested like what is the opposite of Shaddenfreida?

Well, turns out it's Fredenfreida. I know that's hard to believe, but it is. And that means

instead of getting pleasure out of someone's pain or suffering,

getting joy out of someone's joy. So that's exactly what I'm going to be talking about in this episode of the Terry Cole show.
