I've been thinking about something a lot lately and those thoughts I keep thinking they end

Here it is and it is specifically aimed at anyone, including myself, who has some trauma

in their past that shows up every now and again to derail them.

It shows up every now and again to have you start to spiral in your mind thinking about

this thing over and over or to think about someone who hurt you or to think about something

that you live through and cling to that idea as why you can't move forward.

There are so many times in our lives where when we're unpacking stuff, when we're working

through it, when we're trying to overcome trauma or trying to do our healing work, that

healing work is so all-consuming that it prohibits us in a lot of ways from moving forward.

But that being said, here's this thing I keep coming back to.

Someone who had it way worse than you did is doing way better than you are.

Sit with that for a second.

Someone who had it worse than you did, worse than you did in whatever way and whatever

you have lived through, I am not taking away how painful that was for you or how hard

it was for you.

But at least for me, if I can see a model of someone who has overcome something especially

if it's the exact kind of thing that I had to live through, that really helps me to

feel like, okay, there's a way, there's a path, there's a light.
