is Steve Morris. I'm a filmmaker and directing instructor in Los Angeles, California.

Hello, everyone. Welcome to this special episode. I am John Roker, writer, producer, host, and voiceover artist here in San Diego, California. It seemed like it took you a second to come up with your name there. Well, you know, it's the holidays, and there's a lot going on. And my mind is in so many different places. And I'm dropping the ball in a couple places. So I'm just kind of like, my mind's all over the place right now. You wouldn't think so, but even working from home, there's a lot of responsibilities with my mind being consumed by a lot of things. So I apologize. I am John Roker, definitely. First of all, I'm really glad that I've got the right co-host on the line. It would have been really awkward if I had Shannon McClung or something.

And second, my mind is at least as scattered as yours because I am heading off to New Zealand in about nine hours. So, and so we wanted to bring everyone who listens to the cinefiles a special

holiday treat. Because while John and I love talking about movies during the regular show, we also

have great conversations as part of

our cinephile shorts through the years that are exclusively available through Patreon, and we wanted

to share some of those with you. Yeah, absolutely. We'd love to do this at the end of the year,

at certain spots in the year. We do these compilations. Yes, in one way, it's encouraging people

to sign up for the Patreon because we're showing you what youilations. Yes, in one way, it's encouraging people to sign up for

the Patreon because we're showing you what you can get. But the other thing is, we're also sharing a little bit more of ourselves in these shorts. And for a lot of you who enjoy our tangents, enjoy us going off talking about our lives and how movies affect of our lives or certain scenes in movies echoed into our lives. It's another way for you guys to get to know us a little bit more.

And the response we've gotten from so many people who listen to our shorts or gotten a chance to listen to these, even though they can't sign up for the Patreon, is that you want more of these things and you appreciate the fact that we do them. So we went through all the shorts from this year to come, well, really, Steve did, let's be honest.

Steve did to compile the numbers and then asked, you know, asked me to take a look, see if these

worked. And I love the, because we're doing two versions of these. One is going to be this week

and then another next week. And I think we've picked some really, really good ones from the

batch of shorts that we did this year. And if I may say one more thing, I think we've picked some really, really good ones from the batch of shorts that we did this year.

And if I may say one more thing, I think we went next level on some of these shorts this year in a way we haven't before, which is great to see.

Well, I think the difference when we do the shorts is when we're doing the movie, we have a job to do.

And frequently when we do the shorts,

a lot of it is you and I just having conversations. And frankly, what's straight, because you live

in San Diego and I live here, this is our main friendship, you know. And so we had some really
