Howdy folks. Welcome back to the podcast. Today, Katie and I are going to be talking about how we as homeschool parents can teach our children to respect authority figures that are not ourselves. And then in addition to that, how they can learn to really know what they believe and not be influenced by other people, whether or not those people disagree with their standards or agree with their standards. The fact is, is that as Christians, we are going to have, we are going to live in a way

that's contrary to much of the public that we're going to interact with in our lives. And I know that I

want to become accustomed to respectfully disagree, but also holding my ground and living out my convictions,

knowing when to speak up and stand for truth when it is fitting, knowing how it's best,

knowing how when to respect authority as it pertains to leading my family and doing what's best

for them and making sure my ego is not leading me in those areas.

So I think it is a good discussion, something that we are talking about for ourselves and that we

really want to, I guess, exemplify and then train our children.

And yeah, I know it's a conversation that comes up a lot with homeschool parents and with Christian

parents because we do want to teach our children to stand strong,

to stand separate from the world and from wickedness. But at the same time, there are authority

structures that God has put in place that I think he commands us to honor and acknowledge and

at times submit to. And so anyways, we're going to be talking about that.
