Summary

Sabrina Imamura is back for round two and she's very candidly talking about her experience with anxiety, including having daily panic attacks on stage while performing in Hamilton on Broadway. Sabrina covers it all: what sparked the anxiety, how it attached itself to Hamilton and performing in general, the weight of keeping it all a secret, and how being open about everything led her down a much safer path. The bottom line is that no one has any idea what they're doing and we're all just trying to figure it out.

Sabrina has been a swing with Hamilton since 2017 starting with the original Angelica Tour and including stops on Broadway (twice), the Eliza Tour (the Los Angeles sit down), the And Peggy Tour (which kicked off in Puerto Rico), and is currently on the Philip Tour.

her agents began sending her out for a musical theater, which was interesting because that's not what Sabrina trained for, like, at all.

She grabbed her Think of Me Sheep Music, used her extensive piano skills to help her rehearse the vocals,

harness what she called fake confidence, and she walked into those audition rooms ready to go.

0:58.8

At first, she wasn't focused on booking anything. She just saw these auditions as classes and learning

experiences, and in retrospect, she realized that that totally took the pressure off her.

1:06.4

Last week, Sabrina explained how she was always called in for what she calls Asian-specific shows and roles.

1:11.4

That was until Hamilton came along in 2016.

1:13.8

Plus, this was the first audition room where Sabrina got the information she was craving, the intention behind each movement, the story, not just the what, but the why.

1:21.1

It was brand new and it was awesome.

1:22.7

She loved it.
