Well, he's the perfect person. How am I doing so far, Norm?

I like it so far. He's a perfect person to have on the day after the inauguration. Norm has been

with the American Enterprise Institute for several decades now. I think the longest

surviving member of the American Enterprise Institute. Is that right, Norm? I am. I am now,

as of January 1, an emeritus there, meaning I'm still there, but not in the same form.

And when I say surviving, I don't mean anyone who's been there is dead.

I just meant not part of AEI still.

That's, you know, there are multiple meanings for the word survivor.

Okay.

Well, you are a survivor.

Yes.

And certainly Joe Biden is, has not just survived, but has attained his goal at, I think at a very good time in our nation's history to have Joe Biden, someone with tremendous knowledge of how the federal government works. And someone who who he's not FDR, but he's

Joe Biden. And Joe Biden has always tried to be a unifier, right, Norm?

For his entire career, you know, I met Biden right after he came to the Senate in 1973.

I was a young academic and I was writing a book on the

Senate and I tried to get in to see a number of senators, which was not an easy thing to do.

But I was told I could have 15 minutes with Joe Biden.

And I went into his office and came out an hour and a half later. And did you get a word in?

And then he said, come back tomorrow. He had another hour and a half. And, you know, even back then,

he was remarkably open and candid about the trauma that he had gone through, that he
