The real you, the real me is not my connection to my family or to place or to religious institution or to nation.

The real me is how I feel inside. Well, now we have technology that allows me to give

real powerful expression to that in a way that we've never seen before.

Well, you may have noticed that the concept of sexual identity is really a hot button these days.

Pop culture celebrates it, churches and families are dividing over it.

Facebook offers you 14 different

ways to identify yourself in terms of gender on your profile. And before they're old enough to

drive a car, teenagers are encouraged to discover who they are by first discovering who they are

sexually and who they're attracted to. Friends, put simply, this is some of the chaos

that happens when we neglect God's design and purpose for our humanity and for our sexuality.

But there is hope, and that's why I'm excited for you to hear my conversation today with Dr.

Carl Truman. Dr. Truman is a theologian and currently a professor of biblical and religious studies at

Grove City College in Pennsylvania.

He has a PhD from the University of Aberdeen and Scotland and a master's degree from Cambridge.

So how's that for an intimidating resume?

Dr. Truman is going to help us understand how the sexual revolution that is happening

right now in our culture actually has its roots in philosophical changes that began many years

ago.
