π TODAY'S SCRIPTURE: Psalm 27
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evildoers assail me
to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
it is they who stumble and fall.
3 Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident.
4 One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire in his temple.
5 For he will hide me in his shelter
in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will lift me high upon a rock.
6 And now my head shall be lifted up
above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make melody to the Lord.
7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
be gracious to me and answer me!
8 You have said, “Seek my face.”
My heart says to you,
“Your face, Lord, do I seek.”
9 Hide not your face from me.
Turn not your servant away in anger,
O you who have been my help.
Cast me not off; forsake me not,
O God of my salvation!
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me,
but the Lord will take me in.
11 Teach me your way, O Lord,
and lead me on a level path
because of my enemies.
12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries;
for false witnesses have risen against me,
and they breathe out violence.
13 I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living!
14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord!

| 0:38.6 | it is in our day. In the last installment of the morning mindset we talked about the fear of the dark and the fear of light and the rather the comfort that light brings when we are afraid of the dark and how that happened for all of us as children. |
| 0:56.0 | Today we want to talk about this issue of salvation. |
| 0:59.5 | Now let's read chapter 27 verse one again so you get the context of what I'm talking about says the |
| 1:05.7 | Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear now salvation has to do with some sort of deliverance, doesn't it? |
| 1:16.4 | Now in David's case there were all kinds of things he experienced that you and I |
| 1:20.6 | don't typically experience being a king and a leader of a nation and a warrior, he would |
| 1:27.1 | often have literal enemies coming against him in a battle, or in some sort of a wartime situation. |
| 1:34.8 | So when he thinks about the issue of salvation, he is thinking about deliverance from |
| 1:40.3 | literal enemies in many cases. But he may also have been thinking about |
| 1:44.6 | circumstances or the kinds of things that come against all of us in our lives and I |
| 1:49.8 | think phrases like this are meant for us to apply in the various situations of our lives as a |
| 1:57.7 | a need that we have in other words we all need salvation from one time to another depending on the circumstance. |
| 2:05.8 | Now we as believers in Jesus Christ also understand that in the New Testament the word |
| 2:11.0 | salvation is used to apply to our salvation from the consequence and |
| 2:16.2 | penalty of our sin. We're often used the phrase I got saved or I've been saved to remind ourselves what Jesus Christ |
