I'm Hello and welcome to me the episode number 441 of real life ghost stories

and I have three spooky stories for you today and the last story comes from January

the 18th, 2025. And story number one comes from Eric. I've been listening to some of your older podcasts and one reminded me of an experience I'd forgotten about.

I'd explained it away years ago, but there are still aspects that just can't be explained.

At the time, I explained it as imagination or an animal, yet still to this day there are questions.

It was 1979. I was 17 years old. My siblings had all moved away at this point and we lived

in a large old brick farmhouse. At this time it was me and my parents in three standard

dashins. My parents were travelling so it was just me

and the dogs. The house was a two-story brick house built around 1832, with a two-story porch on one

side. The house had a ten-foot ceiling with eight-foot windows that started just off the floor.

I was upstairs in the library reading a book. It was maybe tenpm. One dog in my lap and two curled up at my feet. For further context, I was reading a book about Midwestern ghost stories. Suddenly I heard one of the dogs growling, then the second one, then the one of my lap. I looked around and as one does ask them what was

going on. And then I saw it. A set of eyes in the upper third of the window. I sat there for

moments trying to figure it out. I thought at first, it's nothing. I'm reading a book about

ghosts after all. But the dogs were not

acting normal. Dashings aren't known to cower, yet the girls would not leave my side, but continued

to growl. I decided I wasn't going to wait. I got up and left the room with the dogs on my heels.

I turned on every light in the house and spent the night in

the family room with all three dogs by my side. The next morning I spent explaining things.

I finally decided that it was either my imagination or it was a raccoon. We had raccoons in the area and

I had seen them climb the side of the house and downspouts. There was also a ledge outside at the base of the windows.

But, to this day I still question my explanation.

Would my dogs experience the same imaginary things that I did?
