The Hi everyone and welcome back to the Cabral concept I'm Stephen Cabral

0:21.7

Board certified naturopathic doctor.

0:24.1

And today's question and today's topic is by popular demand. So I've gotten quite a

0:29.2

number of questions on the Ask Cabral page about what burns more body fat.

0:35.4

So essentially this time of the year, springtime people looking to really get in their

0:39.6

best shape for the summer and they want to optimize their exercise and I'm a total

0:45.4

and I'm a big believer in that like okay we only have so much time during the day

0:50.1

how can we best use that and so let's's say if you have like three days per week, what

0:55.2

should you be doing to burn the most body fat? And so the question I get is, what

1:00.9

burns more body fat? Cardio, using like a treadmill and elliptical a bike or

1:05.4

intervals maybe a spinning class or pill sprints or you know any type of interval

1:11.2

training in general which is working really hard for

1:14.0

30 seconds to a minute or so at a time and then letting the heart rate come back down

1:17.8

and then repeating that process or is it weight training so it's a really good

1:22.3

question like which one of those three burns more body

1:26.0

fat but the problem is this is that you can't give a definite and educated answer to that question without first saying that each of

1:37.9

them burns body fat and each of them will burn body fat depending on like how long you want to actually do it

1:45.2

and at what intensity. So for example I want to give you some real world examples and

1:49.9

then tell you exactly what I would do. All right.

1:52.5

So when you're doing cardio, when you are going out for a run,

1:55.9

it can burn body fat.

1:57.4

It really can.
