You know, typically we don't do true crime on the peripheral.

And I don't know if people would consider this episode an exception or not.

I really am more fascinated with the process of things and how society deals with and responds to crime and victims and survivors.

What's rarely talked about is what happens after the fact.

What happens after the crime?

Who has to deal with murder weapons?

Who has to deal with the cleanup.

These are elements that we never think about.

It's just a foregone conclusion that these things are dealt with.

So I've spoken with two people that that's their job,

is to handle things after a crime or a violent incident has happened.

My first guest works at a gun shop, and she explains what happens to weapons that are seized.

And my second guest is a crime scene cleanup professional.

Also, some of my interviews have some noises going on, some buzzing sounds, and it's because

Skype has eaten a few of them.
