Rudy Gide is the only person serving time for the 2007 Italian murder of British student Meredith Kircher.

Now he's spoken publicly outside a court of law for the first time, giving his version of the story.

Hello and welcome to Real Crime Profile. This is Jim Clemente, former New York City prosecutor and retired FBI profiler.

Also writer producer on CBS's Criminal Minds. And with me today is Laura Richards, Criminal Behavioral Analyst, Advocate, and Activist, Founder and Director of Paladine National Stalking Advocacy Service,

So today we're going to sort of continue on the theme of the interviews of Rudy Guede.

If you haven't listened to our last podcast about the interview that he gave in January 2016, maybe it would be a good idea to do that because we're going to sort of compare and contrast another interview that he gave.

And this was an interview that he gave, well it was supposed to be an interrogation, but it was an interview he gave on the 26th of March to the prosecutor, Mignini.

So 26th of March 2008 in Peruja, and this was a formal interrogation which, under law in Italy, has to be recorded.

And we'll talk a little bit later about maybe some other interrogations that weren't recorded.

Do we know if this is the first time that he has spoken to law enforcement?

No, it certainly is not. Although some people believe it is, but clearly in the text itself, he references as well as his attorneys' reference, as well as the other attorneys' reference, as well as Mignini reference, other interviews that were done.

And also that he was formally questioned by a magistrate for a, basically what turns out to be a preliminary hearing or a probable cause hearing.

There are a number of times where in this interview, Guede says, I have to correct something from before. And we'll talk about what might really be going on behind the scenes in those instances.
