Now, Jack is the author of a new book called The Invention of Duty, where he kind of dives in very deep into the term and tries to rediscover the roots of this term or this idea of moral duty.

And he believes that you can tie it right back to the ancient Stoics, that they were the originators

I'm going to tell you a little bit about Jack. So Jack Viznick is a classicist and historian of philosophy

interested in uncovering long-term patterns in history. He has a bachelor in classics and

mathematics from Columbia University and a PhD in ancient philosophy from Princeton. His book,
