As we're nearing the end of the year, I have another episode from a Reagan Defense Forum series that we recorded early in the month.

My guest is Shift CEO and Navy Vet.

Mike Slaw.

Shift is building a massive platform for helping millions of vets transition their talent and skills to the civilian sector

over the next five years. Critically for us here at the realignment though, Mike and Shift also put on the Defense Venture Summit back in DC last month.

The event had a bunch of great talks from previous reelignment guests like A16Zs,

Catherine Boyle.

The key summary of Mike's work is that it fits under his idea of what civil military fusion in the United States

could look like. We usually hear about the concept of civil military fusion when it

comes to the Chinese Communist Party and the People's Liberation Army back in China. In this usage, however, I think

it's an optimistic vision of how we can come together as a society that and civilian alike

to solve an approach big challenges this decade.
