Summary

Becoming a parent is a profound transformation, filled with both awe and responsibility. Midwife Lindsay Meehleis, with over two decades of experience, joins the conversation to reveal the deeper wisdom of birth, the power of intuition, and the ways medical intervention has shaped modern childbirth. Through personal reflections and expert insights, we uncover how birth is not just a medical event but a sacred rite of passage — one that requires trust, advocacy, and a return to natural wisdom. From the role of fathers in the birthing process to the cultural fears surrounding childbirth, this episode is a call to reclaim birth as an intuitive, empowering experience that shapes not only our children but our own personal growth. For the past 22 years, Lindsey Meehleis has worked in Healthcare, being called into Birthwork 20 years ago and having witnessed thousands of women birth their babies. Trained traditionally and licensed through the Medical Board, she quickly learned that what is needed in the magic and mystery of birth and death can't be found in a book. She weaves "Great Grandma Wisdom" into our modern world. She has witnessed a drastic shift in Healthcare since 2020 and looks forward to co-creating a new future of what true medicine always was. She gets down to the nitty-gritty of LIFE and everything it brings while illustrating the power that we have within, showing that birth, life, and death are pivotal rites of passage that deserve to be held in sacred deep reverence. —Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lindseymeehleis/  —Website: https://www.theremembering.com/  Resources: —Ready to transform your relationships? I became a dad. And becoming a dad was the best thing I've ever done in my life. I'm happy I waited

0:11.4

till now because I don't think I would have been the best possible father early in my life,

0:16.3

especially in my 20s. But, you know, there's something about having a kid that if you accept

0:20.5

the invitation from that, there's something about having a kid that if you accept the invitation

0:21.1

from that, there is an opportunity to hold yourself to a much deeper level of integrity. And I think

0:28.4

children, even if they're not yours, can be a great motivation to really step into your power

0:34.9

and your potential because your life is the lesson to them.

0:38.0

The way you show up is the demonstration of what's possible.

0:41.7

And I always think about that when I'm considering what is the, not just what I say I stand for,

0:47.2

but what do I actually stand for?

0:49.0

What do my behaviors and choices represent?

0:52.5

And through the process of becoming a father, like one of the

0:56.4

most incredible parts of it has been learning about birth, learning about the medicalization

1:02.0

of birth, learning about how powerful women are as mothers during the delivery process. Like,

1:07.2

everything about it was so insane to me in the best possible way. And, you know,

1:13.2

being that I was more in the medical world previously, I was in pharma for 14 years, it's so

1:19.6

interesting to when we were learning about birth and going to the pre-birth classes. The place we

went was in Las Vegas and the midwives were all labor and delivery

nurses too. So we had this great contrast of the two worlds. They lived in both worlds. And the way

that they presented everything was, here's what's going to be suggested. Here's the history of birth.

Here's what the data shows. What would you like to choose? And that way you're
