In this episode, Patrick talks with Ruth, a rising voice on TikTok known as @here_4_now, about her journey toward the Catholic Church as a candidate in the OCIA program at her local Arizona parish. Ruth comes from an Ethiopian heritage and is currently training as a therapist while—very publicly through her thoughtful TikTok updates and witty commentary—exploring the Catholic Faith. She opens up about her deeply personal story, from growing up in a strong evangelical tradition, including a stint as a Mennonite, to wrestling with the historical claims of Rome. 0:32.6	So we talk about thought control and manipulation through propaganda and how to see through all this through
0:39.2	spotting not only false media narratives, but also how to recognize what a false argument is,
0:44.4	what is a fallacy. Most of us are Catholics. We believe that Jesus Christ is God and everything
0:49.5	else is downstream from that. It's not really political. What we do, we go upstream from politics and culture.

1:25.4	Now, for lifelong Catholics, this is kind of a shock because
1:28.3	megachurch Protestants are supposed to have a monopoly on friendliness and openness and all that.
