Dr. Gabrielle Lyon received her doctorate in osteopathic medicine from the Arizona

College of osteopathic medicine at his board-certified and family medicine. She earned her

0:17.5

undergrad degree in human nutrition from the University of Illinois where she studied

vitamin and mineral metabolism, chronic disease prevention, and management and the physiological

effects of diet composition. She also completed a research clinical fellowship in nutritional

science and geriatrics at Washington University in St. Louis. And what I find so interesting is

0:39.8

she's coined this practice of what she calls muscle-centric medicine, which can benefit your muscle

0:46.4

health through a protein-smart diet, exercise, and lifestyle shifts, which is what we're going to

0:52.3

discuss today. Gabrielle, welcome. Hi Jason, so happy to be here. So great to finally have you.

1:39.8

relates to aesthetics and athletic performance. The reality is, though, muscle is an endocrine organ,

1:47.7

and it secretes myochines when you contract it. It is an endocrine organ just like the thyroid

1:53.9

is an organ, and it interfaces with all systems in the body in a much more potent way than any kind

2:02.4

of one single medication. And the concept of muscle-centric medicine is that muscle is the pinnacle,

2:10.9

not the periphery of health and wellness. Please me to a lot of questions in terms of what

2:17.0

is enough? I think I tend or we tend to think of longevity, and there's certain biomarkers,

2:25.3

if you will, you want to focus on. So maybe it's APOB if you're concerned about cardiovascular health,
