During a recent fight, my spouse mentioned divorce.

Here's Paul.

It's not very wise to try to win another person by threat.

There's a multitude of reasons for that.

One is now you've introduced that threat

and that person is going to wonder then

would you follow through with that threat.

If the person only does what you want them to do

because you threaten them, you don't actually have their heart.

You want the person to want to do something because they love you.

So threat is not a way to get to a point where you've got agreement

or you've gotten the person to do the thing

that you want them to do.
