Summary

Now that the NFC West has passed through the first couple waves of free agency, we run down some of the biggest moves by the Seattle Seahawks competitors. Did the Los Angeles Rams win free agency by spending on the offensive line? Or are they the biggest losers because their Hall of Fame defender decided to pack up his locker and call it a career?  The Arizona Cardinals have four new starters in the trenches. It would be bigger news if they were players you've actually heard of. Plus, they may have made the most boneheaded trade in the entire conference. Then there's the San Francisco 49ers. They're making some key moves, but they didn't do the one thing that could help them overcome a devastating Super Bowl loss.

We take a look at a few areas the Seahawks still need to address through free agency and the draft. Plus, we clear any confusion surrounding the role of Pete Carroll and the Seahawks organization moving forward. Mike Macdonald and John Schneider are working to clear up any confusion around which player is the starting quarterback between Geno Smith and Sam Howell.

In the second half of the show, the take a look at the proposed rule against hip drop tackles and some language that is important to identifying the types of tackles the NFL is trying to get out of the game. A Rams fan who doesn't understand the position of nose tackle and the Seahawks front office both land in this week's Do Better segment. We profile a Missouri-based company as well as a Montana-based organization for their Better at Life worthy actions.

This is the Seahawkers podcast. Episode 432. I'm Brandon Shultz of the military

Seahawkers, and I am joined by my good buddy in Montana Seahawker. Adam Emmert.

You bet, buddy, a little free agency extravaganza here. I think, yeah, I mean, you came up with

0:23.8

this idea better than anything I had for this time of year. I guess we're comparing our free agency

0:29.3

period, the Seahawks, to our NFC West rivals. So that should be, I mean, interesting enough,

0:35.3

right? Yeah, we can throw out some grades.

0:38.2

You know, we've seen lots of other analysts grade teams and how well they've done in free

0:43.4

agency.

0:43.8

So, yeah, we can drop some grades on these things, too, because we need to compare how our

0:49.1

Seahunks have done in free agency to how the other teams in the NFC West have done because they're all making

0:55.7

moves.

0:56.7

Obviously, ours have been great.

0:58.6

The other teams have been terrible.

1:00.6

And we need to come out victorious as we go into 2024.

1:05.5

Yeah.

1:06.1

Well, the fun part is that every year throughout free agency, this is the time period where we all get fired

1:12.6

up for different dudes and different signings and all that stuff. And, you know, there's always

1:17.3

that preseason winner of the crown. And three quarters of these free agents at the end of the

1:23.6

day, you're like, oops. Yeah. It's, it is a little bit, well, free agency, it kind of is one of those things that you

1:32.5

don't necessarily want your team to win because usually the teams who win free agency

1:39.4

are the worst teams that have a lot of cap money to spend.

1:44.2

And so then they end up spending it on guys who will,
