Should the Bible be reserved for mature audiences only?

I'm Sy Kelly at your host.

And if you're going to defend your Catholic faith,

you're going to have to defend the Bible.

And one of the accusations made of the Bible is that it's kind of in decent.

It's got way too much sex and violence in it.

And it doesn't represent sex in violence in a way

that respectable people should be exposed to.

Certainly not children should be exposed to this.

And I suppose this is a way of denigrating the Bible

among the various strategies for denigrating the Bible.

This is one of them.

Is it true?

Is the Bible just too much?

Is there so much sex and violence?

And is it so poorly handled?

That really it's not appropriate for the classroom,

for the family, maybe for reading on Sunday.
