This is episode 18 of the Skills Sprint and today we're talking about a complicated topic which is managing your emotions.

0:09.7

Over to you, Helen.

0:11.8

I was going to say, I don't know what other people are like, why is it hard? It's just emotions.

0:16.3

But we were sort of reflecting on I think the way that we manage emotions, probably quite similar. I don't

0:21.9

think we are always very open with our emotions. And I think people, I think people have a lot of

0:27.7

learnt behaviours with emotions. So maybe your upbringing, other people might have a different

1:13.7

certainly for a significant part of my career,

1:16.7

nobody really showed emotion.

1:18.5

It just wasn't a thing at work.

1:20.6

If I think now about how common it is to talk about people's mental health,

1:25.0

which is obviously a brilliant thing,

1:26.8

I do think now most the organisations say that we work with,

1:30.4

everybody talks really openly and really positively about their emotions

1:34.0

and how people are feeling and the impact that might have.

1:36.4

So I do think we've come a long way, but we're definitely like a,
