A story told to me by my old coworker, narrated in his perspective.

Some friends and I were on a holiday in Arizona, making our way out to Monument Valley.

At one point, we stopped along the road to let the dogs out and take a little nature walk.

We'd only gone a couple hundred yards out into the desert, following the dry washes and

draws that made up this wild Arizona landscape.

That's when we saw a Dene, or Navajo, man standing up on the hillside above us, looking

down at us.

He was dressed in all black in the traditional fashion, and he had a stern, scowling look
