Perhaps this was a noble decision.

It was certainly a fateful one.

When OpenAI's nonprofit board tried and failed to oust CEO Sam Altman in late 2023, a dramatic turn of events now known

inside the company as the blip. The experiment in enlightened governance collided with the realities

of power, money, and politics. Now, as it seeks to change its corporate structure, Open AI faces scrutiny

from investors, regulators, civil society groups, and even former employees. The bid to restructure

has set off a tug of war over the company's future. This is the tech policy podcast.

and it creates a whole new cycle, just everything.

I think within that blizzard of stories, the one that we're going to talk about today

might be getting lost in the shuffle.

It is a potential sleeper.

It could end up being a huge deal.
