Hi, this is John. Every once in a while a film comes along that changes the landscape of

cinema and challenges the viewer. That film is Armageddon from 1998 directed by Michael Bay.

Those of you who know me know how much I love this film and I've talked about it glow

on podcasts and shows over the last couple of years.

And somehow, some way, I convinced Steve Morris to talk about it on the Cinephiles.

We explore the production history, give you some info on some inside stories, and we talk about the

casting as well. And what a cast. Incredible talent from Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton,

lived Tyler, and Ben Affleck to Keith David, Will Patton,

Steve Buschemi, Owen Wilson, and the late great Michael Clark Duncan to name a few.

It's a fantastic film. It's one that I absolutely enjoy.

Now Steve isn't as big of a fan, so this made for an interesting episode.

So strap into your shuttle seat and make sure the seatbelt is on tight

because you're not going to want to miss a thing. This week, Armageddon on the
