Before all that, a special report on the brutal murders of four students at the University of Idaho.

This is a shocking case that is gripping the United States.

Kaley Gonsalovs, Madison Mogan, Zanaka Noodle and Ethan Chapin were found stabbed to death in a student apartment in November.

There is no apparent motive and many unanswered questions about exactly what happened.

The suspect is Brian Coburger, a PhD criminologist student who denies any involvement in the murders.

He appeared in court today where more details emerged about the victims and the circumstances surrounding the crime.

But as the campus reopens after the Christmas break and students mourn the victims, much of it still remains a real mystery.

Well, amazing and congratulations and it's Laura Richards. I'm a Criminal Behavioral Analyst, former New Scotland Yard, founder of Paladin National Stalking Advocacy Service and a host of the podcast Crime Analyst.

And I'm Lisa Zambetti, I'm a casting director who has cast many roles of stalkers and murderers and psychopaths.

But that's fiction and the crimes happening in our world today are very, very real and sometimes I think we might be confusing the two and thinking of real victims and real offenders as characters, but they're not.

We're going to jump in today to comment about a case that's been all over the news since November.

Everyone has been opining about it and glued to the TV about it.

But we've really stayed for the most part away from it for a variety of reasons and we're going to talk about those reasons. But as you know, one of the reasons is not to criticize or interfere with the non-going investigation, not to elevate and accused offender.

And what are the other reasons, Jim and Laura, why we haven't banned Wagon Dawn with some of our true crime colleagues?

Well, Lisa, the thing is, I mean, I have spoken a number of times before the defendant was arrested because I wanted to help get the word out to people in the public about the kind of offender and encourage people to come forward with information and to scrutinize the people around them because I believe there would be behavioral changes in him.

And I think that's the reason why I think that people are not going to be able to prevent the crime from pre-imposed offense and that people could actually help the investigation.

So that's the reason for going on, you know, the national news programs.

Post arrest, there's a lot of people that are speculating and so forth. And there are people that are actually wrongfully, very wrongfully accusing a witness, one of the,

of not doing the right thing and that is just absolutely wrong. They've also, there's been a number of people who questioned how long it took for law enforcement to actually make an arrest and that's just also ridiculous because they were doing their job and they were putting together a case that would not be shakeable and they have to do that.
