the collected teacher in the schoolroom,

even the fair skin beauty on the magazine cover.

If every hurt that person had experienced was a hair, their face would be lost behind the thick

of pain, for there are so many.

When the kids made fun of the way you walk, slander hurts.

When the teacher ignored your work, rejection hurts.

When your parents didn't do what parents are supposed to do, neglect hurts.

As sure as the summer brings the sun,

so people can bring pain into our lives.

Sometimes the hurt is deliberate.

Sometimes the hurt is random.
