lead us into some reflections on wisdom for our day.

Yeah, we're gonna take kind of a big chunk

of the biblical text today.

We're gonna do all three chapters. Chapter three is very, very short, so that's not maybe as daunting as it sounds, but the first few chapters of Hosea here really provide, like there's a prophetic narrative, there's a prophetic narrative there's a prophetic story

there's the story of Josea's life the metaphor of at least as it's being told

I feel like I'm I'm in a better place today to record the episode today because of the last episode,

like El's work, her tool, her rubric that she had to invite us to really consider some things and then the way she was able to point out what

this book is likely really trying to get at and it's not some other tale about some other

adulteress woman. That is a tale that's trying to get God's people to reflect on kind of their

own political adultries, if you will, Imperial adultries if you will, imperial adultries if you will and so I feel like I'm

I'm very much more prepared than I was even a couple a couple weeks ago to engage in this teaching today. So as I was getting ready for, you know, I was doing my deep dive on the profits I talked about in the last episode. I ran across one source that I'm going to draw on a lot today not not necessarily in an academic sense

but just as the seeds of inspiration so this is a rare quotation for me. It's not necessarily a recommendation, but I had an old copy.

I'm not gonna waste our time telling you how a minister's manual functions, but there's a series

towards the back of this section 8.

Well, I am curious, 1994 ministers manuals. Does that mean there's a new one every year or is this

like a periodical sort of thing?

I have three of them that I inherited from my old Bible College library.

There was one in, I have like one from the 50s and one from the 70s and then this one from 1994.
