I remember Googling how to make more money on the side.

And real estate investing came up.

The best way for me to really learn and to the conference that fear is to do it.

When I get to Pittsburgh, I'm going to start investing and that's what I did.

I was paying $300 for a two-bedroom apartment and a two-part garage that I was also paying down in my mortgage.

That's the whole point of house hacking and the beauty of house hacking.

So Sarah, I want to talk a lot about your story about your house sacks and how you found

your properties, but I thought it would be cool.

I'm really interested in your career and the different things you've done in your career

and my understanding is you went to college studied construction science you worked in the project

management doing constructions i'm just i'm curious how you got interested in that part of real

estate and the building of things construction construction. What was behind that?

Yeah.

So originally when I first went to Michigan State, I was studying criminal justice and I really

wanted to be a police officer and a detective.

And I did that for about a year.

And then my dad, he, he owned and operated an ad agency in the East Lansing area. And he,

he worked with Michigan State. And he, you know, said, hey, I found this program. I think you

would really enjoy it. And I think, truthfully, he really didn't want me to be a cop, which, I mean,

I don't blame him. So he said, hey, check this out,

like, you know, look into it. And it was a construction management program. So I did. And I didn't

even know it existed. So I took a class. I thought I'll take one of the classes, the first class.
