Hey there, what do you do when your kids aren't kids anymore?

You do know your children grow up right, and when they grow up, you as a parent have to

deal with them as adults.

It's an amazing journey to get your kids into adulthood, but it also is a little weird

when your kids are making decisions that you may or may not approve of.

And you may or may not have friction with who they are wired to be as God designed

them.

And it also is difficult if your children are making choices that you don't think is

good for them or can even hurt them.

What do you do when you are not quite sure how to relate to your adult children?

Well, I'm going to be talking to Mary Demuth, who is an amazing woman of faith.

That only is she a lover of God's Word, is she a lover of prayer, is she concerned with

how each of us engage intimately with Father God, but she is also extremely practical.

And she has done the work to not only think about, live out, but also write about this

journey that many of us have with adult children.

I really think that our conversation is going to be enlightening to you if you are the

parent of an adult child, but I also think if you're that adult child, it may give

you insight into what the relationship with your parent could and should be.

Listen, relationships are tough, people are tough, and the people that are closest to

us, the ones we've spent half a lifetime living with, if there is friction or challenges

in communication or opinions about how we are each living our lives, it can get difficult

to operate in love and in full support and encouragement of those we call family, but
