0:29.2	I think for me, you know, my relationship with Mormonism took a little bit of a turn for
0:37.0	the worse around the marriage equality debate and the Proposition 8 debate. And I think as a result
0:44.8	of that, you and your listeners may also know that in the aftermath of the propate, there have been
0:50.7	some efforts to try to address some of that. For example, Carolyn Pearson initiated a project to
0:57.8	try to get people to sit down and eat together and have dinner. If I could say there are two
1:05.9	sides to that issue, people from both sides to try to come to some mutual agreement. And we
1:11.6	engaged in some of those activities and had people over for dinner. The thing I wanted to go to is
1:20.0	again, part of what motivates me to, motivates is the wrong word, part of what I've not been
1:29.0	able to bring myself to do in terms of continuing to be either return to Mormonism or the negative
1:37.8	experiences I've had around that have revolved around feeling like people have been some active
1:49.2	LDS people have been well-meaning in their desire to reach out to me. And as they might
1:55.6	couch it or might characterize it as being charitable. And I know there have been some different
2:02.2	institutional messages that have come from the church hierarchy about taking care not to offend
2:11.1	and try to have a civil discourse about this, etc., etc. I think that's well-meaning and
2:17.2	may in fact represent some progress. The place where it doesn't work so much for me is I still believe
2:24.8	there's this that ultimately I'm not held or perceived equally in the midst of the LDS church.
2:35.6	So a good example I can give you is you and some of your listeners might have heard a
2:43.0	story of Elder Marlon Jank, what's his last name? Jensen, Marlon Jensen.
