Apparently, when they did this, like, you know, essentially forensic analysis of this 30-year-old Monkey Island code, there was so much buried in there of sort of relics of iterations of development in terms of like old character designs and scenes that had been redone. And the thing that shocked me is, is it a legacy

of that era that stuff would have stayed in the code? Because it seems like a big part of

the optimization process and stuff that goes on in the tail end of games or throughout

development now.

Is getting rid of that?

It's getting rid of all the superfluous crap that's basically just in there making a mess.

So it seemed insane that this game had the equivalent of almost like tree rings where you can

like look back at earlier versions of itself within itself.

That that baffled me that it was that
