| 0:00.0 | Hey everyone, Vancouver Radio. So this is going to be a very different show and a conversation |
| 0:07.0 | that people have been asking a lot about. So I did Viganuary, I narrated my experience on YouTube, lots of people followed, got picked up by Sky News. |
| 0:19.0 | It was a very interesting journey because that was all a big surprise. |
| 0:22.0 | And one of the things I didn't discuss throughout |
| 0:24.4 | this whole process was the ethics of a vegan diet. I purposely wanted to stay away from the argument |
| 0:31.6 | and from the discussion because for me it's something that |
| 0:35.1 | generally sits very black and white in people's mind. You either believe the |
| 0:40.6 | the killing of an animal for food or taking produce from an animal for food or |
| 0:46.4 | maybe wearing it as well is a bad thing and other people would you know disagree and that's why some of us are omnivores and some of us are vegetarians or that is part of the argument. |
| 0:59.0 | And I suppose I needed to be a point in time where we were ready to have a proper conversation |

| 1:08.0 | I was exploring the vegan diet from a health perspective, from a sustainability perspective. |
| 1:14.2 | And even as I started to get into the sustainability argument, |
| 1:18.6 | it became so many layers deep, |
| 1:21.0 | and the data started to confuse itself and it's like anything like these |
| 1:26.2 | conversations really do deserve a good conversation they aren't a social media |
| 1:31.3 | post like that is absolutely ridiculous now one of the things we did do is we |
| 1:36.5 | we try to go out and reach a few people that are prominent in this space we got got a few, yeah, love to come on the show, but when it came to actually |
| 1:46.9 | sort of organizing the interview, it didn't happen. So we're hoping that actually this interview |
| 1:51.5 | maybe stimulates people to come forward and talk to us about it because me and Tom's here with me today |
| 1:59.4 | Me and Tom are not going to sit here and say that this is our opinion. |
| 2:03.4 | We're going to give an objective account of how we see it. |
