Vincent "Rocco" Vargas was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California. Vargas enlisted in the United States Army (2003–2015) and went on to serve 3 combat deployments with the 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. Vargas also served as an infantry Drill Sergeant. He then left active duty and entered the reserves with the rank of Sergeant First Class. After leaving active duty, Vargas worked in special operations as a medic with the Arizona Department of Corrections and then the U.S. Border Patrol but left in 2013 to pursue his career as an entertainer.

0:06.2	I dropped my gilly blanket and started heading toward the road right after they passed
0:12.1	my location.
0:13.8	My partner motioned on the radio that he had pulled out on the road and was pulling up
0:19.2	behind the vehicle.
0:21.2	Once I got to the road, I saw them put their vehicle in reverse and ram my partner's
0:26.3	vehicle.
0:27.8	Now it was game on and we knew we were in for a fight with kids.
0:34.2	Just then and unbelievably, they put their jeep into drive and sped directly for me.
0:40.8	When they were about 100 yards away, I lifted my rifle and started to pie off to the right
0:46.0	to make sure that if I had to engage, I would not be shooting through the vehicle and
0:49.8	accidentally hit my partner.
0:52.4	I did not want to engage juveniles, but they were speeding up and I thought I might
0:57.3	have to.
0:58.3	I also knew that if I shot the driver, I then had to find a place where I could jump to
1:04.0	safety and not get run over.
1:07.2	As I was taking my weapon off safe and getting ready to engage, the driver and the passenger
1:13.2	both jumped out of the jeep and tumbled from the vehicle while it was still in motion.
1:18.8	Thank God.
1:20.2	My partner was able to grab the female and I was able to snatch the male.
