If I don't feed my deer on the neighbors because the neighbors feed, and I hate it. I hear people all the time, well, I got permission on such and such properties and went and put corn out. Well, they just walk in and think, oh, this looks good, and they just dump a corn pile and hang a camera. And I'm not criticizing. I wish it was different, but that's what people do now. They don't go scout and look for rubs and look for scrapes.

And hunters are so effective, especially in Ohio.

You take crossbows, then you throw baiting on top of it,

and then you got cheap cell cameras.

It's crazy.

All right, Heath, we, uh, we just finished up a land podcast episode. So anyone listening to this and wants to hear the compare and contrast on some of this conversation of hunting your own ground versus hunting a little bit more aggressively. They can do that. It's going great. Thanks for having me, Jake. Yeah, absolutely. So I had to tell you, it's kind of funny. Sometime, it was probably the last week of January. We were going to record with some folks that typically shoot a buck every year. And your name was on the list at that time. And I told the guys that helped me, I'm like, hold on now. I said, when's Ohio closed? Like,

oh, there's still a little bit of time. I was like, we're just going to have to see how this shakes out with Heath and that it was that weekend. I think you shot your, the buck you've been hunting all year. And I screen shot it put in the group text. I was like, well, you don't bet against Heath and conditions and weather and everything came together. but how was your last, how was last year?

It was fun,

but it was rough.

When you only have one deer,

you're targeting,

and you're trying to not overpressure him and run him off your place.

And then, you know,

it's just tough.

I wouldn't get in any,

I wouldn't have in any sightings of this thing.

Very few, only a couple daylight pitchers.

This is a deer I've known for three years.

And he just wasn't doing what he did the year before.

You know, I assume he was like five and a half years old.

And he completely changed his habits meaning moving in you know hunting hours
