But in this episode, I want to talk to you about being hard on yourself. It is so easy to be

hard on oneself because we take things so personally, right?

So we live in a very subjective world.

You're looking through your own eyes based on your beliefs, your values, your personality,

your past, your morals, all of that inner work which is going on.

And of course, because of that, we take it personally. So if we do something maybe wrong or maybe we're unhappy, we can take a deep dive into pain.

We can really get caught up and it can spin us out for the rest of a day or it can change how you see a successful

day. For example, if you had the most amazing day and then you may trip up for whatever reason,

you might then suddenly go, well, my whole day is a bad day because we can generalize our experience. In fact, I'm going to be talking

about how my mind does that in a future episode. It is on my notes. And if we do generalize

our experience, because we messed one thing up, or maybe we had that one internal dialogue with ourselves and we said,

why did I do that? I'm not good enough. If I'm not capable, then it can just cause us to spiral

down because those thoughts, those feelings, those behaviors will change how we operate in our environment. But I'm here to tell you

that when we're being hardened ourselves and we perceive things to be failures, that's not where

the growth is. It's easy to fall into the trap, but I want you to be able to get out of that.
