Summary

Black Lives Matter. Love is love. Women’s rights are human rights. A thread of truth—truth deeply rooted in Christianity—runs through these claims. How do you champion biblical truth while (lovingly) rejecting the lies that our culture has packaged with it? Juli and her guests gather to help you do just that.

“…Christianity is the original source and firmest foundation for true diversity, equality, and life-transforming love.”  Rebecca McLaughlin

Guests: Rebecca McLaughlin & Rachel Gilson

We have moved into the space where sexual and romantic fulfillment has become the thing that we worship.

The misinformation that I was placing all on God is actually true about his enemy, not about him.

We know that Jesus isn't the kind of guy who would support parents disinheriting their

children for coming out as gay. We know that Jesus isn't the kind of person who holds up a sign

that says God hates faggots. We don't know within the church that the gospel is good news for our

1:12.7

apologists who have written and spoken publicly about God's design for sexuality and really

shared candidly from their own testimonies. Rebecca has recently written a little book called

The Secular Creed. Now, you've probably seen this creed on yard signs

1:28.9

maybe in your neighborhood. Usually has like a rainbow pattern with phrases like black lives matter,

1:35.2

love is love, gay rights or civil rights, and other statements like that. So how do you respond

1:41.3

when you see these signs? It kind of feels like an all or nothing package, doesn't it?

1:46.4

You either believe it or you want nothing to do with it.

1:49.7

But what would you say if I told you that some of the claims on that sign are actually

deeply rooted in Christian theology?

1:56.3

Well that's what Rebecca, Rachel, and I are going to be talking about today.

1:59.4

So grab your Java. You're going

to hear us untangle the Christian truths that are rooted in those signs from some of the other
