Today is Saturday March 2nd. As I enter prayer now, I slow my body and quiet my mind, setting my whole being in the presence

of the living God who is ever present to me, aiming all of my desire at the father who

loves to give good gifts to his children, who sets a table for me in the presence of my enemies, and who prepares a coming and going, both now and forevermore. Abba Father, in this Lenten season of prayer and fasting, I remember Jesus in the

wilderness now, fasting for 40 days of testing and temptation. Jesus

resisted lesser appetites out of desire, not duty, desire for me to call me his own and bring me home.

Holy Spirit, would you awaken my desire now the greater hunger for which I am resisting lesser

loves? Would my day begin and my prayer flow from the deep longing that I'm holding before you this

Lenten season. Wherever I find myself today, God is with me. In moments of conflict, grief, temptation, joy, celebration, and laughter.

God will be there.

In Jesus, God took on flesh and in doing so daily encountered

these moments just like I do. So the God who's with me is not a

stranger to the moments and emotions that lie before me today. Oh, Lord Jesus in the day ahead, would you help me remain present to your spirit with me?

You have walked this path before me and are walking with me even now. Oh, it's a day. Holy Spirit, I ask today that you would help me to bring each and every emotion I experience today to you. I want to be shaped by you in how I live this day and

respond to the circumstances I will encounter. As I return to this ancient prayer, I ask that my voice would join with the Saints of old who have worn the narrow path I walk on today and that I would like them

Entrust my whole life into your faithful hands today Lord. The Lord will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore. As the moments of this day come and go as I move from place to place. Lesser things,

lesser loves, at times will naturally require my attention.

But the presence of the Lord naturally require my attention.

But the presence of the Lord will remain with me unchanged as my day changes me.

Today I fast and pray so that between my comings and goings, my love and desire will be redirected

towards the one who never took his attention off me and never will. Oh, Father God, I yield to you my attention today.

Even when my attention oscillates, may my desire for you remain fixed, like a compass fixed north. Oh, Now as I enter this new day, I raise my voice with the praise of Psalm 113, from the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised. Oh, Father help me to live this day deeply and fully in touch with my deep desire from waking

till sleeping perceiving your presence in the day's plans and interruptions, and regardless of what this day holds,
