Today is Saturday, March 2nd. As I enter prayer now, slow my body and quiet my mind, setting my whole being in the presence of the

living God who is ever present to me.

Recalling the day I've lived, treasuring its blessings as I look into God's face and

laying its burdens at his feet. Oh, For he is our God, are the people of this pasture, the flock under his care. Abba Father, in this Lenten season of prayer and fasting, I ask that you not only work through

my prayers, but work within me, even beyond my prayers.

The laying aside of one appetite with the aid of your spirit gives rise to another.

Toon my taste buds to hunger for your presence,

my eyes to see your coming,

hear your whisper, and my lips to savor

which are showered upon me each day,

even this one. A reading from Psalm 95, come that has sing for joy to the Lord, that us shout aloud to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before

him in Thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.

For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.

In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.

The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us bow down in worship,

let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God, and we are the people of his

pasture, the flock under his sheep.

As I look back on my day now, I reflect on the ways my shepherd has attended to me, cared for me, the ways he's

watched out for me, protected me, the ways he has guided me, directed me.

At the end of the day, I returned to his presence, to his rest,

knowing that I am safe in the arms of my shepherd. Oh, Holy Spirit, would you settle me now into the presence of my good Shepherd?
