Summary

Many of us eagerly await the excitement of Christmas morning each year. But, what if, rather than waking to the sight of coveted presents beneath the tree, we woke to visions of our darkest fears?

"The List" was recorded live on November 25th, 2018\. It was part of our annual Yuletide fare, **Holiday Haunts**.

0:00.0	As we still find ourselves in the midst of the 12 days of Christmas, we have yet a few more holiday treats for you.
0:17.2	I'm sure it's no surprise.
0:18.4	One of my favorite parts of this season is the traditional storytelling.
0:22.4	Frosty, Rudolph, Old St. Nick, familiar tales greet us every year to help ring in a time of friendship, generosity, and good cheer.
0:31.7	But how well do we really know these age-old tales? Could it be that the friendly folklore we share is rooted in something spectacularly,

1:50.1	Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
1:57.4	The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds while visions of sugar plums
2:04.3	danced in their heads. No, no, I don't want to. No, no, no, you can't make me. No. Kids,
2:15.2	come on, don't. We're never going to get any presents like that. Cut it out. Kids, now, please, get up off the floor and into beds right now. Santa's never going to be able to come in and leave your gifts for you if you're all awake all night. You know that's how it works. His magic doesn't work if you're awake. I don't want his magic. It's bad, bad magic like Daddy says.
2:33.5	Stop whining. Mom! Hush. Shhh. Okay, okay. Now, calm, please, quiet voice. What has you so upset? It's Christmas Eve. Normally you're trying to force yourself to sleep at 6 p.m.
2:51.2	What's gotten into you? What did Daddy say? I don't want to. I don't like it. You tell.
2:58.5	Okay, it wasn't that bad. Geez. Kids, just tell me, please. Okay, so, well, we went to the store to get the cranberry sauce, like you said, and I asked Daddy to tell us a story, because we never get to hear any stories from Daddy.
