Healing your past. During one recent Uber ride in Atlanta,

I struck up a conversation with the woman who was driving.

As a child, her father had abandoned both her and her mother, who suffered from a drug addiction

and she was left alone to care for her mother. As an adult, she continued

this practice of caring for needy people in her romantic relationships. She

found herself drawn to men with drug addictions and tried to heal them.
