So now that you are more aware of the valar, the individuals who are the earliest personalities at the beginning of this story, we can get into more of the details that are happening at the very beginning of time.

And more of the details of what's going on here with Melkor.

In this episode specifically, we're going to be detailing some of the first events of the very, very beginning of the story.

Melkor's first construction of his first fortress, the first assault on the Valar themselves, the construction of light, and the

really interesting way that light works in Tolkien's mythology. So let's get right into it,

because there are some very interesting details here in the way that the origins of both of these concepts come about.

And I think that there is an interplay here between light and darkness that starts at the very beginning of this story.

And I think that these themes are here on purpose.

So let's just get into the details.

And I'll save a lot of the theme talk for later.

So in the very beginning of the story, of course,

and we've talked about this a little bit on some of the previous episodes,

you have the building of the world. and then you have Melkor showing up and messing

everything up, right?

We've gone over that.

And then Tolkienus shows up.

Tokus the strong.

Remember him?

He was the Valar, who's basically the heavyweight wrestler of the group, who comes in,

who's able to kick Melkor's butt and basically drives him off to some part of the world
